Our Premium recipes for April 2022

Welcome to April’s recipes where we’ve put together some warm Spring salads for our Premium Recipe Subscribers.

As the days get longer and brighter (though you wouldn’t know that looking out of our window here in Leeds at the moment), lighter options are in order.

Salads normally bring to mind cool, crisp leaves and veggies, but we’ve taken that concept and added an Elevated twist by adding some warm ingredients to slightly wilt some of the leaves and make the dishes more palatable for this time of year. Best of all, they can all be made in around 20 minutes max so they are proper time savers.

Jewel in the crown is probably the English Breakfast salad above where Jason has taken a meal normally dubbed ‘unhealthy’ and raised it by several nutrition notches.

Added to traditional ingredients such as bacon, blood sausage and a poached egg are bright leaves and a very cheeky Bloody Mary dressing, made with our Tomato Fondue Brilliant Base. Naturally, you can leave the vodka out if you wish!

Orange and Feta Salad - Elevated Premium Recipes

Greek-inspired crispy lamb, feta, fennel and orange salad

Inspired by the flavours of Greece, this lovely warm lamb salad is high in protein and beautifully balanced thanks to the orange segments, fennel and tangy feta cheese, packed with probiotics that are great for the gut.

Summer Salads - Elevated Premium Recipes

Chorizo & manchego and Pear & gorgonzola

Our final two recipes of the month can be seen above. The salad on the left borrows from the flavours of Spain: hot grilled chorizo (high in protein and vitamin B) alongside manchego cheese (good levels of vitamins A, D and E) and homemade sweet potato crisps (or chips).

On the right we have a salad inspired by the flavours of Italy: creamy gorgonzola paired with honey roast pears. This gorgeous warm salad is great for transitional seasons such as Spring and Autumn and is ideal for kicking back with a lovely glass of crisp white wine on a sunny day.

Cook like a boss

Remember too that we have our regularly updated Kitchen Skills section where Jason reveals some of the tips from his time cheffing with the best in Britain. This month we have how to segment an orange and how to select salad leaves.

And, of course, there is our I Am Elevated Facebook group which has additional nutrition information and recipes over and above what you get on the website.

We’ll see you soon!
