About This Recipe
Gochujang sauce is a fundamental ingredient in Korean cooking – a thick and spicy-sweet crimson sauce made from chilli flakes, sticky rice, fermented soybeans and salt. It has a bold sweet, spicy, umami flavour and can be used as a dipping sauce, drizzled over veggies/rice or used in bibimbap as Jade has here.  You can store-buy it, but you might not use it that much and so Jade has come up with a DIY version that’s inspired by the website My Korean Kitchen. There are some health benefits to this quick sauce. It is low in cholesterol and includes capsaicin, an active component in the chillies, which can help increase metabolism. *apologies for the sound quality in this video, it is filmed in a professional kitchen where equipment such as fridges and other staff members can be quite noisy
  1. Measure out all the ingredients and simply whisk them together. This will keep for weeks in the fridge in an airtight container.
