In this video, Chef Jason demonstrates the best way to clean squid, from peeling off the outer membrane to removing the glass-like spine and carefully drawing out the inner organs. He’ll guide you through the process with his expert tips, ensuring your squid is perfectly prepped for cooking. Follow along as he shows you how to rinse and slice the squid tubes into thin rings, ready to be transformed into a delicious dish.

  2. Peel off the outer membrane using your finger and nails
  3. Draw out the ‘glass bone’ of its spinal column
  4. Draw out the inner gut, be careful to remove it if they ink sack is still in there
  5. Clean by rinsing in cold fresh water, then dab dry both inside and out 
  6. Slice the tube into thin rings, ready for frying
